SoBAD Member Point System:SoBAD is a volunteer-staffed organization; the club's success depends on the efforts of its members. Full members earn points when they make significant contributions to the club's success. Points are earned using a "flat rate" system, as follows. The point schedule reflects the understanding that volunteering in certain jobs results in more benefits.
Rules:
Rules:
- Members are responsible for tracking their own points. Available points must be reported on the membership renewal form each year. Points not reported will be treated as points no longer available.
- Points may only be used for SoBAD events and for SoBAD full membership dues. Points are not redeemable for cash. Points may be redeemed for seminars and other events, up to the total fees for those events and the annual per-member limit. When redeeming points, a copy of the tracking page with appropriate notations must be included with the registration form.
- For revenue-generating events (seminars, trials), points expected to be earned at those events may be applied to the fees for those events.
- The points for specific roles are earned by volunteering to take on that role and the responsibilities associated with it. Additional points may be earned for time spent working in those roles. No other benefit (e.g. reduced fees) is allowed unless agreed upon by the membership.
- Any member who believes s/he deserves more points than the "flat rates" listed below may request additional points at a club meeting.
NOTES:
1 It is understood that the seminar coordinator will be in attendance during the seminar, but may not wish to take a working spot on one or more days. The seminar coordinator is allowed to audit the seminar at no cost on those days; however, working spots must be paid for on the same basis as other SoBAD members.
2 Mileage may also be reimbursed at the prevailing IRS rate
Guidelines for non-members:

Guidelines for non-members:
- Family members of SoBAD members are encouraged to help out, and, by doing so, may earn and then donate their points to the family member who belongs to SoBAD. Points will be awarded on the same basis as for non-members.
- Non-members may be awarded coupons for outstanding work provided to and/or on behalf of SoBAD: these will be paper "SoBAD Bucks" and will be awarded only if the role was unpaid or otherwise uncompensated. These "SoBAD Bucks" have no cash value and may only be applied to SoBAD events. These points will be awarded on the same scale that SoBAD members would receive
